These programs create jobs and play a vital role in our education system.  The Hoopshots program also teach children in America the difference between the international basketball rules of FIBA, and the rules of the NBA.

 

Hip Hop and NBA are synonymous; the American Basketball Association (ABA) was  a basketball association very similar to the NBA, The players in the ABA had a strong presence in  the communities from which they came. The ABA ended in 1976 as a result of the NBA’s merger. This occurred around the same the time that hip hop was born.  Hip hop stars replaced the  ABA stars as local heroes in the community, as the successful rise and influence of hip hop continued to explode . Many hip hop stars contribute tremendously to their communities from where they came. Many have established charitable organizations, dedicate their time, money and resources to give back to their communities, such as assisting the homeless, feeding the hungry and our youth. As hip hop continues to soar in success, the NBA has also grown tremendously.  Now it is time to connect the two; The Hoopshots USA Basketball  program has the foundation and form, and we must follow through.

 

Hip hop has four elements: (1) Rapping; (2) Break Dancing, which is symbolic of basketball’s agile footwork; (3) DJ to set the tone; (4) Graffiti Art Expression, which is analogous to the tattoos represented by the NBA Athletes. There are numerous examples that highlight the fact that basketball players have successfully traversed into the hip hop industry, as well as where hip hop artists have tremendous presence and collaborations with the NBA.  Our  program will capitalize on this fact.

Hoopshots  games are played on the NBA courts during the official pre-game at live NBA games.  Our teams’ players come from our local neighborhoods and remain involved in their communities.

How Our Players Are Selected:

Hoopshots USA Basketball Club acquires our players by holding a monthly tournament (held on the 16th of each month), in which local basketball players and free agents compete for a spot on the roster. The top scorers will go on to play on the NBA court at live games.   It is very similar to the 1 On 1 NBA Championship games of the 1970’s.
